The Logan & Cove’s hybrid construction combines pocketed coils, memory foam, and a pillow top to provide a feel that is both soft and responsive. Customers may also purchase a standard or adjustable bed foundation, a mattress protector, and pillows from Logan & Cove.

Like most GoodMorning.com products, the Logan & Cove Mattress ships only to Canadian addresses. It’s one of several Canadian bed-in-a-box mattresses that have gained popularity in recent years. While U.S. residents interested in a GoodMorning.com mattress can’t easily purchase a Logan & Cove, they may opt for the Novosbed by the same brand. The Novosbed Mattress is an all-foam bed available in three firmness options that ships for free to the continental United States.

GoodMorning.com sells several mattresses, but we’ll focus exclusively on the Logan & Cove. We’ll detail the bed’s materials and construction, analyze its performance, and provide information about its sleep trial, shipping, and warranty policies.

In addition to the Logan & Cove, Novosbed, Douglas, and Brunswick, GoodMorning.com manufactures the Juno, Recore, and Apollo mattresses. The Juno is a value-priced all-foam bed. The Recore is a latex bed designed to help promote physical recovery. The Apollo is a foam hybrid with responsive micro coils.

How Does the Logan & Cove Mattress Feel?

The Logan & Cove Mattress feels both conforming and responsive due to its memory foam comfort layers and pocketed coil support core. Sleepers who enjoy a light “hug” from memory foam, but don’t want to feel like they are sinking deeply into the bed, are well-suited to the Logan & Cove.

The pocketed coil support core in the Logan & Cove Mattress gives the bed a little bounce in both firmness options. That said, most users will find that the medium firm option facilitates movement better than the medium soft model. Sleepers find that getting in and out of bed, rolling over, and having sex on the medium firm mattress are easy to do. Though the foam comfort layers provide softness and are conforming, they tend not to inhibit movement.

A reinforced perimeter gives the bed strong edge support, so the Logan & Cove maintains the same feel right up to its perimeter. Sleepers should feel supported sleeping on any part of the bed, including the edges.

What Is the Logan & Cove Mattress Made Of?

The Logan & Cove Mattress consists of the following materials:

Cover Material

Wood-derived Tencel fiber

Comfort Layers

Silk blend pillow top fill, 0.75 inch cooling gel foam, 0.5 inch contouring bio foam, 1 inch cooling gel foam, 1 inch contouring bio foam

Support Core

2 inches supportive bio foam, individually pocketed coils, polyfoam encasing

A Tencel fiber cover appeals to eco-conscious customers. Derived from wood pulp, Tencel is more natural and sustainable than many other mattress cover materials, which often contain polyester derived from petroleum.

The Logan & Cove’s comfort layers form a pillow top. The top layer is made from a silk blend fill, which gives the mattress a soft, pillowy feel. Beneath that are four memory foam comfort layers that measure just over 3 inches thick combined. Logan & Cove uses two layers of bio foam, a soy-based foam with fewer chemicals than traditional foam. These layers are the reason the mattress gives sleepers a little “hug.” Two of the foam layers are infused with gel to help keep the mattress cool.

In the Logan & Cove’s support core are two layers: 2 inches of supportive polyfoam, and a layer of individually encased coils. These pocketed coils give the mattress a responsive feel and help keep the bed cool by allowing for increased airflow. Individual encasement of the coils also helps reduce motion transfer, since weight on one coil doesn’t necessarily affect the coils surrounding it.

Does it Isolate Motion?

Rating 4/5

The Logan & Cove Mattress isolates motion well. Memory foam, which makes up the bulk of this bed’s comfort system, is known for absorbing rather than transferring motion. Also, the individually encased coils found in this bed are better at isolating motion than continuous innerspring coils.

Motion isolation is most important to sleepers who share a bed with a partner, child, or pet. Most people won’t find a bed partner’s movement bothersome on this mattress. Those who are extremely sensitive to movement, however, might prefer a highly conforming, all-foam mattress instead.

Does it Sleep Cool?

Rating 3/5

The Logan & Cove Mattress is well-rated when it comes to keeping sleepers cool throughout the night. Hybrid beds generally stay cooler than all-foam beds because the pocketed coils allow cooling airflow.

The Logan & Cove does contain some memory foam, a mattress material known for retaining body heat. Memory foam only makes up a small percentage of the bed’s thickness, so the Logan & Cove doesn’t trap as much heat as the average all-foam bed. Additionally, two of the foam layers are infused with gel to help promote cooling.

Will It Sag Along the Edges?

Rating 3/5

The Logan & Cove Mattress has good edge support due to polyfoam surrounding the perimeter of the mattress. The reinforced edges allow sleepers to comfortably sit and lie on the edge of the bed without fear of rolling off. The silk and memory foam pillow top may compress slightly, but sleepers should still feel supported.

Edge support is important because it determines how much of the mattress surface is usable. If a bed doesn’t have strong edges, sleepers cannot comfortably sleep near the edge of the bed. For partners that share a bed, this can cause crowding toward the center.

Is It Good for Sex?

Rating 3/5

The Logan & Cove Mattress provides a mixture of softness and responsiveness that works well for sex and should be suitable for most couples. Responsive beds have “bounce” that helps facilitate rather than inhibit movement. Users may find that they sink into the medium firm option less, which can help when changing positions.

The solid edge support of the Logan & Cove also makes it a good mattress for sex. The full surface of the bed is usable. Users do not have to worry about slipping or rolling off if they have sex on or near the edge of the mattress.

What About Off-gassing?

Rating 3/5

Off-gassing does occur with the Logan & Cove, but most people aren’t bothered by the smell. The off-gassed odor is considered average for a hybrid mattress. Sleepers who are especially sensitive to smells might want to avoid the bed in the hours after it is first opened, as the odor dissipates.

Memory foam is known for creating stronger off-gassed smells than other mattress materials. The Logan & Cove contains some memory foam, but not as much as all-foam mattresses. Most all-foam beds off-gas stronger odors than the Logan & Cove Mattress.

What Type of Sleeper Is the Logan & Cove Mattress Best For?

The Logan & Cove Mattress is highly rated by many side and back sleepers, but the rating is dependent on the sleeper’s body weight and the firmness of the mattress. The mattress also performs well for combination sleepers who switch between their sides and backs throughout the night, but not quite as well for stomach sleepers.

Shoppers should keep their preferred sleeping positions in mind when considering the Logan & Cove Mattress.

Side Sleepers

Side sleepers weighing less than 105 kilograms give the Logan & Cove Mattress the highest possible rating. With its pillow top and multiple comfort layers, the bed excels at promoting spinal alignment in this group. Side sleepers’ heavier body parts don’t sink too deeply, though sleepers who weigh less than 60 kilograms prefer the medium soft version for added cushioning. Side sleepers weighing over 105 kilograms also rate the bed positively, but not as highly as lighter sleepers do.

Combination Sleepers

Combination sleepers that switch between their sides and backs tend to rate the Logan & Cove highly. Sleepers weighing less than 105 kilograms are especially pleased with the bed. Those weighing over 105 kilograms may want to opt for the medium firm model, or consider another option. Combination sleepers who switch between stomach sleeping and other positions might also want to consider the medium firm Logan & Cove, or seek out another bed with firmer support.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers weighing less than 60 kilograms also rate the Logan & Cove highly. These sleepers find they receive the lumbar support needed to keep their lower backs from sinking into the mattress and arching. Back sleepers weighing over 60 kilograms find the medium firm Logan & Cove to be more supportive than the medium soft option.

Stomach Sleepers

Stomach sleepers don’t rate the Logan & Cove as highly as side and back sleepers do, as these sleepers often prefer a firm mattress. Stomach sleepers weighing less than 60 kilograms rate the mattress positively, but those weighing more do not. Stomach sleepers interested in a GoodMorning.com mattress might be more satisfied with the Novosbed or the Brunswick.

How Does Body Weight Impact Performance?

Because the Logan & Cove Mattress is available in more than one firmness level, it rates positively with sleepers of different weights. That said, sleepers in some weight ranges tend to find more comfort on the mattress than others.

Sleepers weighing less than 60 kilograms rate the Logan & Cove most positively. In this weight range, side and back sleepers give the medium soft Logan & Cove Mattress the highest possible rating. Side sleepers find the bed promotes spinal alignment, while back sleepers experience lumbar support. Stomach sleepers in this weight range also give a positive rating, though not as high.

Side sleepers weighing between 60 and 105 kilograms also rate the mattress highly. Side sleepers weighing more than 105 kilograms give the bed a positive rating as well, though not as high. Regardless of weight, side sleepers tend to feel satisfied on this mattress.

Body weight makes a bigger difference to back and stomach sleepers, however. For back and stomach sleepers who weigh between 60 and 105 kilograms, the medium firm Logan & Cove is more suitable than the medium soft option. Stomach and back sleepers weighing over 105 kilograms do not rate the bed positively and may be happier with a firm mattress.

Is the Logan & Cove Sleep Mattress Good for Couples?

The Logan & Cove Mattress is a good choice for couples for many reasons. The bed has strong edges thanks to a reinforced perimeter, so a couple may use the full surface of the mattress. As a result, sleep partners are less likely to feel crowded.

Couples don’t have to worry about overheating at night on the Logan & Cove. The mattress is well-rated in terms of temperature regulation. Although it has some memory foam layers, the pocketed coils beneath them allow for cooling airflow. Also, two foam layers are infused with a cooling gel to help offset any heat retention.

The Logan & Cove isolates motion well, so most couples won’t be bothered by a partner’s movements. As an added benefit for couples, the Logan & Cove balances motion isolation with ease of movement. Some beds, such as those that are more conforming, isolate motion better but may not be as easy to move around on.
