PlushBeds Natural Bliss Mattress Review
Natural Bliss
PlushBeds is an online “bed-in-a-box” mattress company that specializes in beds and bedding accessories made with natural latex. This review will focus on the Natural Bliss, PlushBeds’s only vegan mattress.
The Natural Bliss consists entirely of ventilated latex layers encased in a cover made of organic cotton. However, the mattress is available in multiple firmness and thickness levels, so its specific makeup will depend on which design you choose. These options include a 6-inch profile with one latex layer, an 8-inch profile with two individual layers, and a 10-inch profile with four individual layers. PlushBeds offers soft (2-3), medium (5), and medium firm (6) feels for all three profiles. You may also select an “extra firm” (7-8) feel for some of the thicknesses, but this will cost a bit more.
PlushBeds offers two other mattress models. The Botanical Bliss, like the Natural Bliss, is available in multiple firmness and thickness options. This mattress contains layers of GOLS-certified organic latex and organic wool batting, so it may not be suitable if you are a vegan. The Luxury Bliss is PlushBeds’ only latex hybrid; this model is available with a medium or medium firm feel. The Luxury Bliss contains wool and is not considered vegan, either.

How Does the PlushBeds Natural Bliss Mattress Feel?
Generally speaking, the Natural Bliss offers the typical feel of an all-latex mattress. Latex conforms to the body much like memory foam but it also feels more responsive, and you won’t sink as deeply beneath the surface of the mattress. However, the feel of your Natural Bliss will largely depend on its firmness and thickness.
The soft (2-3) feel provides the closest body contour. You’ll feel ample padding throughout your body and sink a bit into the latex, but the material should keep you on a fairly even plane if you weigh less than 130 pounds. The “extra firm” feel (7-8) barely conforms at all and you’ll sink very little, if at all. The medium (5) and medium firm (6) models both offer a more balanced feel with noticeable contouring and sturdy overall support.
Mattress thickness will affect the feel of your Natural Bliss, as well. The 6-inch models contain one layer, resulting in less padding. In contrast, the 10-inch models contain four different layers and provide very thick cushioning for your body. This means a soft (2-3) feel on the 6-inch model will feel a bit firmer than the same feel on a 10-inch model. The 8-inch Natural Bliss, which contains three layers, offers the most balanced feel among the three profile options.
What Is the PlushBeds Natural Bliss Made Of?
PlushBed Natural Bliss construction varies by profile. The 6-inch model is constructed with a single layer of ventilated Dunlop latex that acts as both the comfort layer and the support core. Dunlop latex tends to be fairly dense, so the 6-inch mattress offers decent support considering its profile is so low.
The 8-inch model features a 2-inch comfort layer of Talalay latex. This material is typically plusher and less dense than Dunlop latex, allowing it to conform a bit more evenly. These models also contain a 6-inch support core of Dunlop latex.
Natural Bliss models measuring 10 inches thick contain two 2-inch layers of Talalay latex over two 3-inch layers of Dunlop latex. The extra Talalay layers create more padding and a plusher overall feel for these mattresses.
All Natural Bliss mattresses are encased in an organic cotton cover. Each model also includes a fire barrier derived from plant-based materials that is located beneath the cover. A full construction breakdown for all Natural Bliss models is listed below:

As you have seen, the PlushBeds Natural Bliss is available in many different firmness levels and profile measurements. We have not been able to evaluate each model for the performance categories below. Our ratings are based on testing the 10-inch Natural Bliss with a medium (5) feel.
What Type of Sleeper Is the PlushBeds Natural Bliss Mattress Best for?
The information in the following sections is also based on our testing and analysis of the 10-inch Natural Bliss with a medium (5) feel. Other versions of the mattress may feel more or less comfortable for certain sleep positions, depending on their thickness and firmness levels.
Side Sleepers
During our testing, we found this Natural Bliss model was best suited to side sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. The plush surface feel ensures ample cushioning for your shoulders and hips, which in turn can help align the spine and alleviate pressure points in different areas. Most side sleepers who weigh 130 pounds or more should also feel comfortable, though they’ll experience more sinkage around the shoulders and hips. This can interfere with their spinal alignment and potentially cause new pressure points to occur.
Combination Sleepers
If you’re a combination sleeper who weighs less than 130 pounds, then the 10-inch, medium-feel Natural Bliss should offer excellent comfort and support regardless of which positions you like to use. You’ll likely feel less comfortable on this mattress if you weigh 130 pounds or more, though. While the mattress is a good option for side sleepers of most body types, back and stomach sleepers weighing at least 130 pounds tend to sink quite a bit. This can cause aches and pains in the neck, shoulders, lower back, and hips.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds are good matches for this Natural Bliss model. The latex conforms enough to alleviate pain and pressure point, but you won’t sink excessively and shouldn’t feel any added discomfort. Unfortunately, back sleepers weighing more than 130 pounds will not feel as supported. As their torso and waist sink deeper in the mattress, they’ll be more susceptible to aches and pains.
How Does Body Weight Impact the PlushBeds Natural Bliss Mattress's Performance?
As is the case with most medium-feel mattresses, this 10-inch Natural Bliss model conforms somewhat closely and does not offer the sturdy reinforcement of a medium firm, firm, or extra firm bed. People who weigh less than 130 pounds will probably feel most comfortable on the mattress because they’ll feel deeper conforming without sinking too deeply beneath the surface. Comparatively, sleepers in this weight group often find that firmer mattresses don’t conform closely enough.
For sleepers who weigh 130 pounds or more, the mattress will probably feel a bit too soft. This is especially true for back and stomach sleepers. Both of these positions generally require more support for the torso and waist, where most people carry a disproportionate amount of weight. Without that added support, they’ll sink more between the shoulders and hips, and this can lead to added pain in certain areas – namely the neck and lower back. Side sleepers in this weight range should find the 10-inch, medium-feel Natural Bliss reasonably comfortable, but anyone else who weighs at least 130 pounds may want to consider a firmer, more robust mattress.
Is the PlushBeds Natural Bliss Mattress Good for Couples?
The 10-inch Natural Bliss mattress with a medium feel offers several benefits for couples – as well as one notable drawback. First and foremost, the mattress offers a balance of close contouring and responsiveness. As a result, most couples should find the mattress great for sex. Its ventilated latex layers also ensure excellent breathability and consistent cooling, so couples needn’t worry about overheating in bed. The all-latex construction promotes easier movement across the surface, so you won’t sink too much when getting in and out of bed. Although it has bounce, the mattress also isolates motion very well to cut down on movement-related sleep disturbances.
The downside for couples is this model’s moderate edge support. Although perimeter sinkage probably won’t be a deal-breaker, you and your co-sleeper may feel a bit confined to the center of the mattress. This can be problematic for those who prefer some space while sleeping, as well as couples who like using their entire mattress surface for sex.
PlushBeds's Trial, Warranty, and Shipping Policies
- Availability
-
The Natural Bliss is available on the PlushBeds website only. The company does not operate any brick-and-mortar locations. The mattress has existing product pages on Amazon, but it is currently not available for purchase.
- Shipping
-
PlushBeds delivers mattresses within the lower 48 states. The company also offers shipping to certain locations outside the contiguous U.S. You can contact the company to see if delivery to your address is available.
All mattresses are delivered via standard ground shipping. Expedited and White Glove delivery are not available. The Natural Bliss will be compressed, wrapped in plastic, and vacuum-sealed for shipping. Couriers will leave the mattress on your doorstep, so you don’t need to be at home when it arrives.
After receiving your mattress, carry it to the room where you plan to use it. You may need assistance (especially with 10-inch models) because the Natural Bliss is exceptionally heavy. Unbox the mattress and carefully remove the plastic. It will immediately begin to expand but may require up to 48 hours for full shape recovery.
- Sleep Trial
-
Every Natural Bliss order comes with a 100-night sleep trial. PlushBeds requires you to test out the mattress for at least 30 nights before requesting a return. If you can’t wait for 30 nights to elapse, your product refund will be deducted by $99. Returns after the 30-night mark will result in a full refund.
If you like the mattress but find it a bit too soft or firm, PlushBeds will mail you a new comfort layer to adjust the bed’s overall feel. This option, known as the “In-Home Comfort Exchange,” requires a deposit. PlushBeds will then ship the new comfort layer and refund the deposit after receiving the old layer, which will not be reused in a different bed.
- Warranty
-
The Natural Bliss is backed with a 25-year warranty. This warranty is partially prorated. During the first 10 years, PlushBeds will cover all costs associated with the repair or replacement of a defective mattress, minus some nominal shipping charges. In year 11, you’ll pay 50 percent of the bed’s original sticker price to have it replaced. This prorated fee will increase by 3 percent with each successive year.
Under this warranty, any sagging or body impressions in the sleep surface measuring 1.5 inches or deeper are considered mattress defects. Other issues may not be covered under warranty. These include normal wear and tear, physical damage, and problems with the feel and thickness of the mattress after the sleep trial expires.
