Recore Mattress Review: Our Verdict
An all-foam option made and sold in Canada, the Recore Mattress offers very good pressure relief and excels at motion isolation. It also provides decent temperature regulation for an all-foam bed due to its unique materials. This construction also has its drawbacks, however, such as weak edge support and average motion isolation.

How Much Is the Recore Mattress?
The Recore is a more budget friendly option than many of its competitors. The mattress runs low-to-average for an all-foam mattress. All-foam mattresses tend to cost less than hybrid mattresses.

How Does the Recore Mattress Feel?
The Recore has a medium feel in terms of firmness, rating 5 on a scale from 1 to 10. Mattresses at the center of the firmness scale appeal to a wide variety of sleepers.
The mattress is responsive, providing a combination of cushioning and bounce-back. The comfort layers contour to the body to relieve pressure points. However, the Recore doesn’t offer the “hugging” feel that memory foam mattresses do. Most sleepers will experience uniform support from the high-density polyfoam support core.
With its graphite- and gel-infused layers, the mattress is designed to disperse heat and sleep cool. Sleepers can also expect relatively easy movement and good motion isolation.
What Is the Recore Mattress Made Of?
The Recore is an all-foam mattress made of three graphite-infused latex and polyfoam layers. This combination provides pressure relief and bounce to the mattress. The mattress is 10.5 inches high, making it compatible with standard-sized fitted sheets.
The antimicrobial cover is made with a blend of polyester, spandex, poly-viscose, and silver thread. The fabric is designed to inhibit the growth of bacteria and other microbes, which should aid in durability and cleanliness.
The cover can be unzipped and removed, and it is machine-washable. The washing instructions should be followed carefully to avoid damage not covered by the warranty.
The bed's comfort system is made up of two comfort layers. The first comfort layer is 1.5 inches of latex foam. This foam is infused with graphite intended to transfer heat away from the body. The layer is responsive, meaning it contours to the body and relieves pressure but also quickly bounces back when pressure is removed.
The second comfort layer consists of 2 inches of gel-infused polyfoam. The gel infusion, like the graphite, is designed to dissipate heat.
The support layer is made of 7 inches of high-density polyfoam for stability and proper spinal alignment throughout sleep.
Does it Isolate Motion?
The Recore Mattress rates average for isolating motion. The latex comfort layer reduces motion transfer across the surface of the bed.
Motion isolation is particularly important for sleepers who share the bed and may be affected by a partner getting in and out of bed or rolling over. While the Recore Mattress should be appropriate for most sleepers, those who are easily disturbed during sleep may prefer a mattress that isolates motion even better.
Does it Sleep Cool?
Most sleepers will be satisfied with the cool sleep that the Recore Mattress offers.
Because the mattress is medium in firmness, it does not “hug” the body the way softer all-foam mattresses do. This ensures there is surface airflow around the body.
The Recore Mattress also has several cooling elements. The comfort layer’s graphite-infused synthetic latex is designed to draw heat away from the sleeper. The gel foam in the transition layer also features air channels to dissipate heat and allow moisture to escape.
Will It Sag Along the Edges?
The Recore Mattress performs about average in terms of edge support, so most sleepers will be satisfied. The medium firmness of the mattress ensures it compresses less than softer mattresses. This is a common experience with all-foam beds as they have less reinforced edges than innerspring or hybrid mattresses.
Edge support is important for ensuring the sleeper does not feel at risk of rolling off the bed. It can also affect activities such as sex and sitting at the edge of the bed.
Is It Good for Sex?
Most couples will find the Recore Mattress satisfactory for sex. The mattress is responsive, giving the mattress a springy feel that allows partners to move uninhibited when changing positions. The mattress also cools well, preventing heat from being trapped. Because the mattress is all-foam, it is relatively quiet.
However, some couples may find the edges of the mattress are not firm enough, reducing the area of the mattress that can be used.
What About Off-gassing?
The Recore Mattress off-gasses an average amount. The smell should dissipate within hours or a few days, depending on the ventilation of the room. Most sleepers will not be bothered by the smell after that.
Off-gassing refers to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released into the air when a bed-in-a-box is opened. These gasses do not pose a health risk, but they can emit an odor while the mattress decompresses after opening.
The Recore Mattress is CertiPUR-US certified, which ensures the mattress does not contain harmful chemicals.
What Type of Sleeper Is the Recore Mattress Best For?
The Recore Mattress works well for most side sleepers and varies among other types of sleepers.
Side sleepers of all body types will find the Recore Mattress supports the shoulders and hips well. It performs especially well for sleepers weighing 105 kilograms or less and adequate for sleepers over 105 kilograms. The mattress contours to the body enough to relieve pressure but is still firm enough to move around without difficulty.
The medium firmness rating of the Recore Mattress makes it a good choice for sleepers who weigh under 105 kilograms and shift positions during sleep. Because motion is isolated fairly well, most sleepers won’t disturb partners during movement. However, sleepers over 60 kilograms who primarily sleep on their stomach may prefer a firmer mattress to avoid sinking too deeply.
Back sleepers require both cushion to support their lower back as well as firmness to prevent the abdomen from sinking and exaggerating the curve of the spine. The Recore Mattress meets these needs for sleepers who weigh under 105 kilograms. Back sleepers who weigh more than 105 kilograms may prefer a firmer mattress to ensure adequate lumbar support.
Because stomach sleepers need support around the midsection to reduce the feeling of sinking, most stomach sleepers prefer a firm mattress. The Recore Mattress is good for sleepers under 60 kilograms. It is not too soft for these sleepers, and its responsiveness helps alleviate pressure on the shoulders. However, stomach sleepers who weigh more than 60 kilograms will prefer a firmer mattress that prevents sinkage.
How Does Body Weight Impact Performance?
Experience and comfort with a bed range greatly based on sleep position and the sleeper’s body weight. The mattress rates a medium (5) in firmness, which is often quite comfortable for sleepers who weigh 60 kilograms or less.
The Recore Mattress is especially great for sleepers under 60 kilograms, regardless of sleeping position. The bed provides sufficient contour and cushion to relieve pressure without giving the sleeper the sensation of sinking into the bed.
Sleep experiences with the Recore Mattress for sleepers between 60 kilograms and 105 kilograms vary widely, depending on the primary sleep position. Side sleepers will find the bed provides great pressure relief. The mattress is suitable for back sleepers because of the cushion and firmness that supports the lumbar region and proper spinal alignment. However, stomach sleepers may experience excessive sinkage and will generally prefer a firmer bed.
Sleepers who weigh 105 kilograms or more will experience the most sink on the mattress. For side sleepers, the Recore Mattress provides appropriate pressure relief to the hips and shoulders. However, stomach and back sleepers in this weight range are likely to experience a feeling of sinking into the bed. The Novosbed, also from GoodMorning.com, comes in firmer models that would provide better support for these sleepers.
Is the Recore Mattress Good for Couples?
The Recore Mattress is a good choice for couples, depending on their body sizes. If both partners weigh under 105 kilograms, they will find comfort in most sleep positions. The exception is for stomach sleepers between 60 kilograms and 105 kilograms, who may not get the firmness they desire to support the midsection. Couples with one or both partners weighing over 105 kilograms who do not sleep on their side will prefer a firmer mattress.
Unlike many other all-foam beds, the Recore Mattress sleeps cool and does not trap heat. The bed's foam layers isolate motion relatively well, so partners are unlikely to disturb each other when moving during sleep. Sensitive or light sleepers may prefer a bed that isolates motion even more.
The responsiveness and temperature neutrality make the mattress suitable for having sex. However, with average edge support, some of the usable surface area may be limited.
